SINGERS in the Dursley area are being invited to four special sessions next month to learn songs from a variety of styles, under the leadership of Sky TV talent judge Ben Sawyer.
The course, called ‘Singing for Pleasure – Voices in Harmony,’ has been organized by the Tyndale Choral Society, of which Ben is director.
He said: “Many of our own members who want to enhance their skills will be there, and anyone from the area who would like to come and have some fun singing in harmony will be warmly welcomed.
"There’ll be songs from the shows, arrangements of pop classics, and some choral greats to have a go at.”
Ben, who judged Sky One’s talent competition, Sing: Ultimate A Capella, added: “There is no audition, and no need to be able to read music – though we hope you will have a better idea of how to do this by the end of this four-week course.”
Tyndale Choral Society chairman Magnus Carter said: “We have got sponsorship from our educational fund, so we have been able to keep the cost to a nominal £15.
"We hope singers who are new to the area, and perhaps community choir members who would like to take the next step in enjoying harmony singing will join us.”
The course takes place on the evenings of March 4, 11, 18 and 25 in Dursley.
