More tools have been stolen in two burglaries in Thornbury.

A van was broken into on Knapp Road between 6pm and 7.30am on February 7/8.

Tools were also stolen from a shed in Swallow Park between 4pm and 8.30am on February 9/10 although some were recovered nearby.

Police have issued advice in the wake of the burglaries, which follow tools being stolen from Clare Walk and Filnore Allotments last month.

Owners of vans are advised not to leave expensive power tools in their vehicle overnight, or at the weekend, when not at work.

If they feel the need to leave items in the vehicles, then they should consider fitting specialist floor-mounted safes and secure storage boxes.

Police also advise security marking as well as taking photos of their tools and equipment.

They also issued a reminder to ensure all sheds, outbuildings and garages are secured.

Anyone able to provide information on the break-ins is asked to contact the police quoting reference 5219028124 (van) or 5219029644 (shed).
