During an e-mail discussion with my son in Vancouver, Canada, he told me that his service provider had recently increased his download speed from 300 Mb/s to 600 Mb/s.

He could not believe that I am struggling with 1.7 Mb/s on average.

His comment was that we are only one step up from the stone age!

This severely restricts my ability to utilise the benefits of smart technology.

According to the Openreach website, the Uley Exchange and local cabinet are enabled for optic fibre, yet they currently have no plan to provide the service to my area.

At 75 years of age, I am beginning to think that a sensible download speed may not be available during my lifetime!

Does anyone know of a local action group, to pressure Openreach to do their job?
