Someone who took an unlocked bike from the Co-Op in Stroud to avoid an early morning trek has returned it.
The bike was found outside the shop on Slad Road yesterday with a note attached to it explaining why it went missing.
The note reads: "To whom it may concern, I am very sorry.
"I borrowed your bike last Saturday. It was 3am and the bike arrived outside the Co-Op like an oasis in the desert.
"I was faced with a 3 mile walk or borrow your bike, which was unchained.
"I'm sorry for any upset or worry I caused you. Yours faithfully, A grateful biker."
