LINDSEY Green has been announced as the new Stroud District councillor for Berkeley Vale.
Yesterday, Thursday, February 28, voters turned out to vote for their choice after the sad death of councillor Penny Wride.
Conservative party candidate Lindsey Green won the election, with 49.8 per cent of the vote.
She said: "I want to thank the people of the Berkeley vale for putting their trust in me, and I will work hard with our fantastic local Conservative team to deliver for local residents."
Four candidates had put themselves forward to serve the Berkeley Vale community at district level:
Lindsey Green (Conservatives), who was elected with 993 votes.
Liz Ashton (Labour), who received 686 votes.
Mike Stayte (Liberal Democrats), who received 231 votes.
And Tom Willetts (Green Party), who received 82 votes.
