A CARING teenager has had 12 inches of her long fair hair cut off for charity.

Hollie Walton, who is 14-years-old and attends Rednock School, braved the big chop for not one, but two good causes.

At Peter Hickman hairdressers in Long Street, Dursley, stylist Ashley Williams cut four ponytails from Hollie's hair, each measuring just over 12 inches in length which she has donated to The Little Princess Trust.

Little Princess Trust makes real hair wigs for children suffering from hair loss as a result of cancer or alopecia.

When Hollie heard about the trust, she decided she wanted to help.

Not wanting this gesture to benefit just one charity, Hollie and her mum set up a Just Giving page to raise as much money as possible for CLIC Sargent, which supports children and their families during serious illness.

Hollie had regularly taken part in fundraising for CLIC Sargent at primary school and was keen to carry on the good work.

After originally setting a target of £250, through the kind support of friends, family, mum’s work colleagues at Salus Approved Inspectors and other very generous sponsors, Hollies has already smashed this target and is now well over £450, with gift aid still be be added.
