There is a chance to learn about the impact the Second World War had on Thornbury.

You will be able to learn about others’ stories or share your own at an event at Thornbury Library on Thursday.

Hear how your parents and grandparents lived through the war or, if you lived through the war yourself, bring along any memorabilia or photographs.

Library staff can scan photos and add them to the Know Your Place website to preserve them for the future.

The free event from 2-4pm is part of a National Lottery funded project visiting libraries across South Gloucestershire.

Similar events are taking place in Yate and Winterbourne libraries on May 3 and 24 respectively.
