A stolen car has been seized by police in South Cerney.
Several members of the community reported a car parked up on Berkeley Close.
Residents reported the suspicious car to police as it was brand new and did not appear to belong to anyone.
After police carried out checks on the VW Golf, they found it was stolen and recovered the car.
A police spokesperson said: "Thanks to the local community to raise concerns and our partners, Green Meadow who dealt with the recovery.
"Based on the registration plate, the VW Golf appeared taxed, insured and MOT'd, but upon closer inspection and having done checks on the Police National Computer, the registration number and the Chassis number did not match.
"The chassis number can be found on the bottom left of the windscreen, sometimes like in this case the vehicle must have been on false plates and for this reason at first we were not certain that it was a different vehicle.
"The vehicle with the correct chassis number had been marked as stolen on the Police National Computer and for this reason we recovered it."
