Two men have been released under investigation after a 94 year old man appeared to have been the victim of a distraction burglary.

At about 4.20pm on Monday, March 20, two men went to the home of the elderly man in the Bath Road area of Hardwicke, Gloucester, where one told him he needed some work doing on a fence.

When they went to look at the fence it is believed that the other man went inside the property.

After the two men left the elderly man realised that cash was missing from his home and called police.

Details of the men, and their van, were circulated and officers from West Mercia Police arrested a 22-year-old man from Worcestershire and a 46-year-old man from Warwickshire in Evesham.

Both men have now been released under investigation.

If anyone has information about this incident which might help officers with their enquiries they are asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 350 of 18 March.
