Proposals for new parking restrictions in Bourton-on-the-Water has been put forward after complaints from residents and businesses.

Gloucestershire County Council is proposing to introduce new restrictions on various roads within the village.

The proposals were made after a request by Bourton-on-the-Water Parish Council to address parking issues raised by residents and businesses.

Improving safety for vehicles and pedestrians and maintaining traffic flow through the village are the aims of the proposals.

Gloucestershire County Council and Bourton-on-the-Water Parish Council have been working closely to ensure the best solution to issues raised.

Included in the proposals are:

  • No waiting at any time on double yellow lines.
  • No waiting between 9am and 6pm on single yellow lines.
  • No waiting at any times and no loading at any time on double yellow lines and double kerb blips.
  • No waiting at any times and no loading between 11am and 5pm on double yellow lines and single kerb blips.
  • The relocation of parking bays that will include disabled blue badge holders and limited waiting bays.

Consultation events took place this week allowing residents to submit comments regarding the proposal.

Plans will be made available on Monday, March 25 at gloucestershire.gov.uk/tro.

Comments will be able to be submitted until April 14 via email at troconsultation@gloucestershire.gov.uk or by letter.
