A 43-YEAR-old man was banned from driving for 18 months and must pay £1,335 in a fine and costs after pleading guilty to a series of motoring offences on Friday.

Peter Murray of Ffordd y Morfa, Abergele, was accused of driving with excess alcohol on March 4 on the A548 at Towyn, with no licence, no insurance and no MoT.

His solicitor Huw Roberts said at Llandudno court that Murray was a hard-working carpenter and father-of-five. He had been for drinks with workmates at Rhyl and normally travelled home by train but because of a family emergency had driven a car.
