A play park still remains closed, despite the new housing development it is based in being completed for well over a year.

For residents in the Barnhill development next to Waitrose in Chipping Sodbury, there has been a brand new play park fenced off for a rather long period of time.

This has been because of a dispute between the property developer on the site Bloor and the incoming property maintenance company Chamonix Estates.

A meeting was held last month, during which over 40 residents arrived to discuss issues with the site, this included the park.

Chamonix have said in a statement in February: “The play area will be opened once we have taken handover of the estate from Bloor and we hold a satisfactory RoSPA inspection on file.

“In addition to this, public liability insurance will be placed to cover the play area commencing from the date of handover.

“I appreciate that residents may be frustrated that the play area is not yet open but the developer is within their rights to do this until such times that the necessary insurances and inspections have taken place."

As yet, there is still no date set for the park opening.
