A 7-year-old girl from Yate has cut off over ten inches of her hair, raising an incredible amount of money in the process.

Brooke Daly is a student at North Road Primary School in Yate and has always had very long hair.

Now though that has all changed, as she cut off 12 inches to raise money for charity.

The hair that was cut has also been sent to the Little Princess Trust, an organisation that helps to create wigs for young children that have lost their hair for any reason.

Brooke made the decision to cut off her hair to donate herself and through donations she has been able to raise an amazing £635 for the Little Princess Trust so far for the feat.

She had the haircut on Saturday, March 23, with a family friend and neighbour Nicola Jones being the lady tasked with the job of giving Brooke a new style.

Nicola is a very experienced hairdresser, with her own company Perfect Styles popular in the community.

Brooke had the cut and was described as ‘very brave’ by her father James Daly.

"Both myself and Sarah are amazed and immensely proud of Brooke’s generosity and simple act of kindness, this was completely her idea from the start," he said.

"Thank you to all of our families, our friends, work colleagues and neighbours for their kind generosity."
