A driver was forced to climb out of a car after they became partially submerged under water.
A car was found in a ditch by the side of the road yesterday near Thornbury.
Firefighters from Thornbury, Avonmouth, Patchway, Temple and Bedminster all attended the incident where a white Volkswagen had left the road.
The fire service confirmed that the occupants of the vehicle were forced to self extricate, climb out of the car, before emergency services could arrive at the scene.
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity were also in attendance at the scene, as well as the South Western Ambulance Service Trust, a Hazardous Area Response Team and police officers.
