A road has been closed in the centre of Chipping Sodbury while emergency services attempt to contain a fuel spillage.
Diesel is believed to have been split from a wood chipper tank which had fallen from the back of a trailer in Gorlands Road, Chipping Sodbury.
Avon Fire and Rescue were called to the spillage at 9.40am today, April 5, and on crew form Yate fire station attended the scene.
Crews are understood to have used an environmental pack to stop the leak and to prevent diesel from spreading further across the road.
Teams from the Highways Agency are also in attendance with a gritting lorry to spread sand across the area and stop the fuel from contaminating waterways.
The road will remian closed while teams work to clear the spillage.
