A PLAY park in Slimbridge has been updated in a £55,000 revamp.

The make-over at Swan Park saw the installation of five new items of play equipment: a zip-wire, a spider’s net climbing frame, see-saw, playhouse and a wheelchair accessible roundabout.

The works also included the creation of a new path through the playing fields, making the playing fields fully accessible year-round, and which is set to provide a safer route to the school away from the road.

A spokesman for PARCS (Play Area Regeneration Committee of Slimbridge) said: "PARCS is so appreciative of all the funders who have enabled us to raise this huge sum of money.

"These include the Lottery, Slimbridge Solar Farm, Tesco, GMCA, Persimmon, CPFA, Nibley Festival, Renishaw, Dursley Roundtable, Slimbridge Horse Show, Slimbridge Fete, Frampton Show, GCC, Highways and SEN."

"We are now busy working hard to build up the pot for the next phase which will be installed later this year.
