A UNIQUE event which brings the whole community together returns to a north Wiltshire village next month.

The world's only pop up village, POP 2019, returns to Sherston on May 17-19, after a three year absence.

The event, which was previously held in 2013 and 2016, raising over £11,000 for charity, promises to return bigger than before, with 49 pop up shops and experiences opening up in homes and gardens around Sherston.

The weekend is all about community, with local people sharing their skills and talents for one weekend.

Each POP last for three hours, and residents will be offering their own coffee shops in kitchens as well as ice cream parlours, yoga retreats, homemade waffles and campfire cooking.

POP 2019 raises funds for Sherston Primary School and Sherston Village Hall.

Opening on Friday night with The Fab Family Show with homemade kofta's, visitors can on Saturday enjoy a host of activities including the chance to enjoy a Thai hand massage or have a go at Boule.

Pop in to build a boat or dabble in the Slime Station. Jay’s Thai Kitchen could be a must for lunch and then take a quick detour to Fudgepocalypse.

On your way you may have decided to visit the Circus of Science or the Freakshake Shack.

Perhaps enjoy a spot of golf at the picturesque POP-A-Putt course (Wiltshires's only six hole golf course) at the end of the day, before heading off to the 19th hole cocktail making masterclass.

Round off the day at the Disco Bingo, which involves dancing on benches while playing bingo.

Sunday will give you a chance to sail a homemade boat on the river, enjoy the ultimate bacon butty delivery service, the puzzle trail, Scoops ’n Smiles ice cream parlour, the film studio, instant photo booth, pick and mix sweets, and the games cafe.
