A 46-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences, including being in possession of a knife in a village pub and assaulting a police officer at another property.
Terry Niblett, of Hawkesbury Upton, is accused of brandishing a knife whilst in the Fox Inn Pub in Hawkesbury Upton on March 17.
He has also been charged with assaulting a police officer.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 46-year-old man from Hawkesbury Upton has been charged with a number of offences including possession of a knife in a public place (at the Fox Inn), and an assault on an officer during the execution of their duty.
"These incidents happened on 17 March.
“He has also been charged with a separate public order offence relating to an incident at Yate Job Centre on 15 March."
Niblett will now appear at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday, April 17.
