AN OPTICIANS in Thornbury is thanking the community for supporting a month of fundraising for Brain Tumour Support.
March marked Brain Tumour Awareness Month and Specsavers in Thornbury seized the opportunity by raising £100.
The team dedicated every Friday to their fundraising efforts by wearing charity t-shirts and wristbands, selling special trolley-coins and collecting donations
Store director, Mark Walker, said: "Brain Tumour Support are based right around the corner from us here in Thornbury. I’m really proud of the team and the work they put into raising awareness and fundraising for this truly local cause.
"The work of Brain Tumour Support is invaluable to those who are affected and their families, we know they’ll put the money raised to great use.
"We’re hoping the activities in store also raised awareness that eye tests are not just about prescription checks and glasses but are part of your wider health.
"A routine test allows opticians to detect serious issues that can be life threatening."
