Dogs of a single shape and size - sausage - descended on Cirencester once again this morning.

207 Dachshunds of Gloucestershire headed to Cirencester Park for a morning stroll.

Many of the low-bellied walkers were classic sausage dogs while some were unusual cross-breeds.

Organiser Shannan Barrett said: "It was just crazy today, I could not believe how many people turned up.

"The official count was 207, with some people coming from as far as Bristol and Yeovil.

"People who attended the January walk could not believe how much it has grown."

"One person commented that it was just as good as a similar event at Hyde Park in London.

"It was also so nice to see people who had come from out of town stay in Cirencester for food and drinks.

"I was getting people throughout the walk asking me when the next one will be.

"I am looking at June or July for the next, it is something I want to do every few months.

"Thanks to everyone who showed up, and hopefully I will see you at the next one."

The walk follows the inaugural success in January, where 62 dachshunds descended on the town.
