Yate's Minor Injuries Unit will be open over the bank holiday weekend.

Earlier this week, the hours at the centre were extended to 8am-8pm daily seven days a week.

A statement from Jason Broadley, a Yate MIU matron confirmed the opening times.

"We know how much people value their Minor Injuries Unit and here in Yate we are really pleased to have worked with Commissioners and North Bristol NHS Trust to extend our opening hours in response to feedback from local people," he said.

"We will be open from 8am to 8pm throughout the Easter weekend.

"It is often quicker to be seen at an MIU and we can treat a range of minor injuries including sprains and strains, cuts and grazes, burns and scalds, bites, broken bones, and eye injuries.”

"The website pages for Yate Minor Injuries Unit has details about urgent care services, including treatments available and opening hours."

Facilities to treat minor injuries such as sprains, strains and broken bones will be open.
