A CAM couple who were married during World War Two are celebrating their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Dennis and Renee Tocknell, both 94, met in Manchester in 1943.
Renee was working at Lancaster bomber factory, AV Roe’s, and Dennis, who was with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, visited the city to take a course in re-equipping Sherman tanks.
The couple married in 1946 and went on to have four children - daughters Jackie and Pat, and sons Michael and Keith.
Their family has continued to grow, with the addition of seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Dennis said the secret to a long and happy marriage was ‘give and take, and love’.
“I love Renee as much now as I did when we were first married,” said Dennis.
“We do everything together, and we have done all our lives.”
To celebrate the milestone, Renee and Dennis went out for a family meal to an Italian restaurant in Dursley.
