MP for Thornbury and Yate Luke Hall has been running free trips to Parliament since his re-election in 2017.

The trip earlier this week marked the first time that Thornbury residents had been offered the opportunity.

Those that are invited on the trip are given free transport to Parliament, a tour of the famous building, chambers and also a chance to see the Royal Gallery.

The tour also provides guests with an opportunity to question the MP on issues both nationally and locally.

Luke Hall said: “The most enjoyable part is having the opportunity to speak to residents around the issues they care about, listening to them and seeing how we as a community can tackle them head on.

“I hope to offer more residents the opportunity to visit Parliament in the months ahead.

“If any constituents are eager to attend one of these tours then I encourage them to get in touch with my office.”

Thornbury resident Patrick Morrissey said: “It was a very enjoyable day.

“The trip through Parliament was absolutely fascinating especially the little bits like seeing the lobbies and having the procedures explained.”
