A FURNITURE restorer from Wotton under Edge is enjoying a move to more spacious surroundings.

Fifi’s Fancy Furniture, which sells a range of chic and upcycled furnishings, has re-opened at number 8 on the High Street.

Owner Fifi Parsons needed more space to display and work on pieces of furniture for the store, and decided to opt for a larger premises.

“It’s been fantastic,” she said.

“Initially I was worried that we might not get the footfall, as the shop isn’t as central.

“But it’s actually been much better, as there’s more space to park and people can easily pop in for a look round.

“The extra space means I can paint while I’m in the shop too.

“Customers can come in and sit and watch what I'm doing.

"They can see how a piece of furniture develops and ask me questions about the techniques."

Fifi uses a range of materials, such as chalk and oil-based paints, coloured waxes and metal leaf to breathe new life into old pieces of furniture.

“I get completely absorbed in each piece that I do, relishing the transformation,” she said.

Fifi also takes commissions and offers tutorials.

The shop is a stockist of Frenchic furniture paint.
