A major crash that involved at least two cars and closed two lanes on the M4 this morning has been cleared.
Traffic was queueing for around 10 miles due to the accident between J17 for Bath and Tormarton and J17 for Chippenham.
The incident happened just before 7am on the Eastbound carriageway.
Emergency services were in attendance.
Travel times were seriously affected by the crash.
Pls be aware if travelling nr #Bristol #SouthGloucestershire there is approx 10 miles of congestion on approach to this #M4 incident. This is likely to add over 1 hour onto your usual journey times with traffic back to J20 (#M5) #Almondsbury. Plan ahead.https://t.co/xtVVdobnEg
