The family that had hoped to be moved out of their council house because of huge issues with mould are getting support from their MP.

Lee Thomas and Kathy Smith have been living in their home, battling against mould and damp for nearly a year.

Lee told the Gazette that the couple had been in contact with Stroud District Council but had not made any progress.

"We have spent a lot of money and a lot of time redecorating but not a lot seems to be happening," he said.

"We want them to look at moving us out or for them to come and fix the problem because it just keeps getting worse."

Now though, David Drew MP has got involved with the case and has revealed his intentions moving forward.

"I am aware of this case and my office is working with the family and Stroud District Council to address the problems the family is facing," he said.

"We hope to come to a positive resolution as soon as possible.

"I also understand that more than one property may be experiencing the same issue."
