A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... Well, the Ridings Playing Fields, Jedi, Stormtroopers and Wookie flocked to the parkrun.

Chipping Sodbury parkrun is always an extremely popular event in the town, with hundreds of people turning out to make their way around the 5km circuit every Saturday and this week's Star Wars themed event certainly added to the fun.

To mark the parkrun falling on May the 4th the run director team decided on a Star Wars themed run, plenty of the participants disguised themselves as characters from the popular franchise.

It was a great event and our reporter Ross Arnott was there to capture some of the best costumes on the day.

Every week there are personal bests and achievements at the free event, however this week was a special one.

81-year-old Avis Noott completed her 50th parkrun and achieved a personal best in the process, she will now wait to receive her special parkrun t-shirt.

She is the course record holder for time at the Sodbury parkrun for her age group, as she is at six other parkruns across the country.
