There is a chance to learn about a historic ship at the next meeting of Thornbury Local History and Archaeology Society.
Dr Toby Jones will be speaking about the Newport Medieval Ship, one of the most significant Tudor history events since the recovery of the Mary Rose.
The ship, a 15th Century clinker-built merchant vessel, was found in the River Usk in Newport in 2002.
Dr Jones is a nautical archaeologist and the curator of the ship, now a tourist attraction.
The meeting is in St. Mary's Church Hall, Eastbury Road, and will begin at 7.30 pm on May 14.
Guests can enter for £2. Free refreshments will be available.
