A legend of the English folk scene will perform in an Alveston church as part of his new tour.

Steve Knightley, best known for being part of folk duo Show of Hands, will be playing at St Helen's Church next month.

His solo show, Roadworks, follows on from last year's Songs and Stories show and will give an insight into what it’s like to be a touring musician.

Steve said: “A life on the road certainly has its challenges, but I can’t say I’d do it differently if I had to start all over again. The format of Songs and Stories, and now Roadworks, allows me to share the stories I’ve collected over the years, along with plenty of observations along the way.

"It's just me, a radio mic and a couple of guitars which is daunting and liberating in equal measures, and it’s enabled me to build elements into my shows which I’ve never been able to before.

"The reception from the 2018 tour was fantastic – it really seemed to strike a chord with people– so I’m looking forward to 2019’s tour."

Steve is playing in Alveston at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 13th.

Tickets are £18 each and are available from 07760 991297 or steve.c.hitchins@gmail.com.
