The Chipping Sodbury Big Lunch team are getting ready to bring another fantastic, award-winning themed event to the area this weekend.

Sodbury's Big Lunch has become a key part of the calendar, with hundreds of people coming out to enjoy entertainment in the High Street every year.

Last year, the Sodbury 800 event was a real success and the committee's efforts in putting the Big Lunch on was rewarded with a community award.

In April this year, the team were given the Group Community Awards at a ceremony at SGS College.

Now they are looking forward to their upcoming event, that is taking place this Sunday, June 2.

It will be a Country and Western themed event and will be starting in the High Street from 12pm .

“What could be more fun?” said Chipping Sodbury Big Lunch chairman Alexandra Womack.

“Hay bales will line our beautiful High Street and we have a packed line up of amazing entertainment this year.

“All you need to do is pack a picnic and come along for a day of free fun.”

There will be a wide selection of things to do at the event this year, with a top Dolly Parton tribute act, line dancing, an inflatable bucking bronco and a children’s fancy dress competition.

The High Street will be lined with free side stalls including face painting and a tin can alley as well.
