A major commuter road will be closed as work for the Cribbs-Patchway metrobus extension takes place over the coming weeks.

Gipsy Patch Lane is a through route to Cribbs Causeway from South Gloucestershire but it will be closed as work is carried out from June 3.

The existing footway under the bridge will now be kept open for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists throughout the June closure and a signed diversion route via Bradley Stoke Way and the A38 will be in place.

The construction work will include extensive traffic management, including an approximate eight month closure of Gipsy Patch Lane from early 2020 to enable the replacement of the railway bridge.

The metrobus extension will start later in 2019.
