A café chain with branches all over Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire is offering an exciting opportunity to join their academy.

Grounded, who have a café on Thornbury High Street, will launch their new academy for those wanting to join the catering and hospitality field.

The business currently has 11 cafés across the region, but there are exciting plans to open many more in the near future.

“For us here it’s all about our teams,” said Grounded founder Tobie Holbrook.

“When you visit any establishment, you don’t care about who owns or operates the business. You’re interested in the ladies and gentlemen that serve and cook for you.

“We always recognise this when recruiting, it’s vital for us to have the right team for the right role.

“Often Grounded come across applicants that have the perfect attitude and outlook but may not have the qualifications or experience.

“We see these people as a fresh opportunity, we invest in them with training and development, and Grounded are very proud that over the years many who have joined us at a junior level have been promoted up the ranks to senior positions.”

Grounded has teamed up with Hit Training and will look to provide new members of their academy with a series of qualifications that will help to develop them in the catering and hospitality field.

The qualifications that are on offer to new apprentices include: Hospitality Management, Hospitality Supervisor, Hospitality Team member, Production Chef and Senior Chef in Production Cooking.

The hope for Grounded and Tobie is that the new apprentices will help the chain expand across the region.

“We have some plans to expand and open more café bars within the next few years so this is an exciting opportunity,” he continued.

“The hope is that the new staff will stay with us as we grow and invest in them.

“We are looking for the right people to come in Grounded and if it works then there is a clear pathway for them to progress.”

All of the new courses will be running from Grounded’s Thornbury branch and in all of their other bars.

They are now taking applicants in branch or on their website, the qualification courses are paid and work based.
