A bollard that was knocked over in Dursley was not vandalism the council have confirmed.
The post, which lines the edge of the pathway near to Sainsbury's in the town was found on the floor last night.
Dursley Town Council have revealed that it was not vandalism and it was simply a minor car accident.
The incident has been reported and will be dealt with soon.
"Highways have been on site and will replace the bollard soon," said John Kay the town council clerk.
"The Town Council's CCTV filmed the incident and the details have been passed to Gloucestershire County Council so hopefully they will be able to recover the costs for the repair."
Concerns had been raised by residents who believed it may have been vandalism.
