The Post Office has revealed they are willing to help support a new branch in the North Yate area.
It comes after the branch on North Road, next to the Codrington Arms, was closed suddenly last Friday.
“North Road Post Office has been temporarily closed since June 1 due to the resignation of the Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises, that we do not own, for Post Office use,” a spokesman for the Post Office said.
“We understand how important a Post Office is to a community and we would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to restore a Post Office in that area. Alternative branches in the area include Yate Sodbury and Chipping Sodbury.
“Any retailer or small business owner interested in running the Post Office and incorporating it into their business should email ND.enquiries@postoffice.co.uk or call 0845 2668790.”
