A GROUP of volunteers have refurbished part of a Thornbury school.
Castle School Friends (CSF) have given the Castle School’s student centre a makeover.
The student centre is dedicated to pastoral care. It is where students go for mental or practical support.
BBC doumentary, School, showed Castle was forced to make cuts to pastoral care.
CSF was set up following the documentary and has regularly been holding DIY days ever since.
Most recently they installed a new sick bed that was donated by the Willow Brook Clinic in Bradley Stoke and put up new wall cabinets in the medical room to hold first aid supplies.
CSF’s next DIY day is on July 13.
