Students at Chipping Sodbury Secondary School have been working hard over the last few months with the community to reduce the impact of single-use plastics.
And they have received a boost for their work after contact from renowned wildlife expert Sir David Attenborough.
Their work involved starting a petition to ask school meal provider, Integra, to consider reducing their plastic use.
A school spokesman said: “Several students involved with our CSS art club and the student senate have started the petition and gathered over 100 signatures.
“We wrote to Sir David a few weeks ago, to let him know of the incredible work the students and incredibly, he replied with a handwritten letter.”
