A DAY nursery for toddlers and young children hosted a big party last week as they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Upper Knapp Farm Day Nursery has provided a service to the people of Cam and Dursley since it opened its doors in 1995.

On Thursday, June 6 staff at the nursery hosted a special birthday party where all the children were allowed to eat party food and play party games.

The nursery is split across two separate buildings, with the groups being determined by age.

They have always been in the same building but have made changes through the years to accommodate a growth in demand.

Around 45 children enjoyed the celebrations with staff and each other. Some were even wearing birthday bonnets that they had spent the week making in preparation for the event.

A spokesperson for the nursery told the Gazette that they were very proud at what they had achieved in the community over the decades.

“As a team, we are proud of our Nursery and the reputation it has amongst our community,” they said.

“Since opening our doors 25 years ago, we have gone from strength to strength with the support from families in our local community.

“Staff are committed to putting the child’s needs, interests, thoughts and opinions first whilst delivery high quality care and education.

“We celebrated our anniversary with a tea party which the children and staff enjoyed.

“We look forward to another 25 years of Upper Knapp Farm Day Nursery. “
