Two amateur theatre groups who perform at The Barn Theatre in Cirencester are coming together to form a new group.

COS Productions and Theatre Ink are coming together to form the new group which will be known as TINKCO.

Formerly known as Cirencester Operatic Society, COS Productions is a multi-award winning group who have been performing in Cirencester since 1951 with over 70 shows in total.

Some of its recent shows include Jekyll & Hyde, Titanic the Musical and Anything Goes.

Theatre Ink were formed 10 years ago by a local theatre enthusiast and have performed innovative and acclaimed productions at The Barn Theatre for the past four years including Guys & Dolls, One Man Two Guv’ners and The Full Monty.

Rachel Wright, an amateur performer, choreographer and director said: “The groups have been performing side by side for 8 years.

"I was a member of COS and joined Theatre Ink for their production of Chess.

"Since then the groups and their relationship has been constantly evolving and growing closer, and now there are many people who are involved with both on stage and off.

"The next natural step was to bring this relationship even closer by forming one theatre group”.

TINKCO will perform three shows a year at The Barn Theatre, mainly musicals but also some plays.

Its first production will be Big Fish the Musical in November this year.

Before that ,Theatre Ink have a production of Bad Girls at The Barn Theatre running from June 27 to June 29.
