AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by a Stroud school after parents raised concerns over social media posts made by a teacher.
A parent, who does not wish to be named, told the SNJ: "Students uncovered racially insensitive and indecent tweets from a current Marling School teacher.
"The tweets were posted in 2012, when he was in his mid 20s.
"The tweets came to light after a student scrolled through his feed to his earliest posts.
"As his account was public this gave students the chance to explore his social media."
The teacher has now suspended his page.
In a statement, Marling School head teacher, Dr Stuart Wilson said: “The allegations have been brought to the school’s attention and we are handling the matter in line with our internal procedures.
"We are unable to provide any further comment at this stage.”
