Staff at a surgery in Yate have been promoting the importance of cervical screening.
Last week was cervical screening week and staff from West Walk Surgery promoting the importance of women aged 25 - 64 having their smear tests.
The surgery has a display in their waiting room and staff have been wearing pink t-shirts.
Last Wednesday Dr Delap, staff and members of their Patient Involvement Group went to Yate shopping Centre to give out information leaflets.
Dr Delap said: "It is important to make your smear test appointment when you receive your invite as cervical cancer symptoms are not always obvious until it has reached an advanced stage.
"Going for regular checks can stop cancer before it starts."
