An appeal has been launched to find a Gloucestershire couple who helped an 85-year-old man after he fell.

Colin Greenland was walking alone at The Rumps in Polzeath, Cornwall, when he tripped over and badly injured his arm.

Unable to get back up, Colin was reliant on the kindness of strangers. The family particular want to thank one couple who carried him back to his car and then drove him and his car back to the holiday home in New Polzeath.

Colin's granddaughter, Abbie Greenland-Pigott, said: "It was all a bit of a shock when they turned up with the car.

"It was so kind of them. They spent a lot of time with him.

"They really went out of their way. They were so lovely. We'd love to get in touch with them."

Colin has recovered well but Abbie and her family are hoping to locate the couple so they can properly thank them.

The couple are from Gloucestershire but were staying near Polzeath and celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on June 17 when the incident occurred.

Anyone with any information should call Abbie on 07714 746944 or email abbie.j.greenland@gmail.com
