A FIRE broke out at Horsley tip yesterday.

Firefighters were called to the Pyke Quarry Household Recycling Centre at 3.15pm.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire County Council told the SNJ that the contents in the metal recycling skip were '100 per cent damaged'.

Two fire engines attended the incident, one from Nailsworth and one from Stroud, with the first crew arriving at 3.25pm.

One jet, two breathing apparatus, and one hose reel were used.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
