Staff at Castle School in Thornbury will NOT be striking next week after they held 'positive discussions' with management.
On Tuesday, nearly 100 members of staff that form part of the National Educational Union picketed outside of the school citing concerns for their 'safety and wellbeing'.
Emma Wlson, a teacher of 17 years at the school said on the strike day: “It feels absolutely horrible to do this and we are only doing this because we believe we are desperate for change.”
"We did a survey and around 50% if staff are looking for a new job.
“I want it to be somewhere that the kids want to come to again.”
The CEO of CSET and head at Castle, Will Roberts issued a statement for parents following on from a meeting between management and staff on Wednesday afternoon.
"Following productive discussions yesterday with the National Educational Union (NEU), we are pleased to confirm that the planned industrial action next week will not take place and the school will therefore be open as normal," a letter to parents said.
"The NEU and Castle School plan to issue a more detailed joint statement in due course, but in the meantime we wanted to update parents as soon as possible about arrangements for next week."
