A historic pump feature in Chipping Sodbury has been damaged by a lorry.
The water pump next to SPAR on the High Street had one of its concrete bollards knocked over in the incident.
The pump was the only source of water for residents who did not have their own wells over the centuries.
It was used to water the animals at the livestock market and horses in World War 1.
It had been planted with drought tolerant plants to highlight the need for gardeners to conserve water.
It is not the first time that the pump has been damaged.
More updates to follow.
