A RESTAURANT and tapas bar in Thornbury High Street closed because the lease on the building expired.

Grounded had been in Thornbury since May 2018 after branching out from Bristol and Wiltshire.

It took its place on Thornbury High Street.

However, just over a year after opening the restaurant has now closed its doors.

Founder of the chain, Tobie Holbrook, told the Gazette that the lease expired on the building.

It comes weeks after the founder had announced plans to grow the business, with a number of other branches expected to open over the coming years.

The restaurant was popular, with regular quizzes and also karaoke and open mic nights.
