The Gloucestershire Community Nurses Fund is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a reunion luncheon on Tuesday, August 20.

Established in 1974 to support district nurses in retirement, it has also provided financial assistance to vulnerable patients in its care.

Its remit now extends to community nurses currently working in Gloucestershire who are experiencing hardship.

According to its Chair of Trustees, Jackie Smith, the charitable organisation also provides training grants and equipment to community nursing services.

Extending its invite to all retired district and community nurses, Ms Smith says the lunch “will be a wonderful chance to catch up with old friends and colleagues.”

The event will take place from 12noon to 3pm at Frampton-Upon-Severn village hall with the lunch provided by the Women’s Institute (WI).

Anyone wishing to attend should ring Ms Smith on 07984 971837 to request an invitation.
