Police have revealed that they have arrested a man in connection with two incidents on the Bristol-Bath cycle path.

Yesterday, the Gazette reported that a warning had been put on social media regarding an incident where a man jumped out on a female runner and grabbed her.

The post said: "It is reported that on Sunday morning on the Bristol-Bath Cycle Path at approx 08:20 a man, described as black, mid length hair, approx 6’ tall wearing a bright blue jacket & backpack and dark cargo trousers and dark shoes grabbed a female runner.

"The attack was interrupted at the approach of the abandoned railway station at Mangotsfield coming from Emersons Green towards Bristol.

"The attacker approached and held the woman from behind and she was unable to break free.

"It is reported that when another person approached, he sprinted away into the woods.

"Enquiries with the police revealed that two females had reported identical incidents that morning."
