Tea is an important part of any cricket match but a club in South Gloucestershire knows that better than most.

Marshfield Cricket Club have launched Bites Beyond the Boundary, a book detailing their favourite recipes.

The book contains 21 recipes from different club members. It has been organised by Anne McCune, a long standing committee member and one of the volunteers helping to make the tea throughout the summer.

Anne said: “There was much discussion about the book but when I realised the club were about to celebrate 50 years of the current pavilion, which to date must have hosted over a 1000 teas, this spurred us all on to make Bites Beyond the Boundary a reality.

"I’d like to thank all the tea volunteers down the years, and of course those that have their recipes in the book!”

Ideas for the book started after the club won an award for their hospitality in 2017.

The club, currently top of the Wiltshire division of the West of England Premier League, celebrated both the 50th Anniversary of their pavilion and the launch of the book on Saturday.

The book was even discussed during the BBC's cricketing institution Test Match Special, during their coverage of the first Ashes Test.

The book is on sale for £12.50. For information on how to order it go to
