Last minute plans are being put in place for the 8th Sodbury Sportive, this weekend.

The event, that is now rated one of the top 10 cycling events in the country, takes place on Sunday and will be very different this year.

"It is a whole new event this year," says Bill Bennett, organiser and chair of All Chipping In, the group that helps organise the event.

"We’ve set up four brand new excellent and scenic routes to suit all types of riders and we’ve got some super new food stations to keep them refreshed.

"Our Entrée covers 25 miles, the Swift-Half is 50 miles, the Ton-Up is the full 100 miles and there’s the 3Quarters for those who think 75 miles is enough.

"There’s still time to enter so we’d be delighted to top up our numbers to make it another record-breaking year”.

All Chipping In is the charity that has organised the event this year, along with help from the Chipping Sodbury Rotary Club and others.

Every penny that the charity makes goes to causes in the community.

Riders will be leaving the Ridings in Sodbury at around 8.00am and are expected back throughout the day.

There will be stalls, activities and music at the event village at the Ridings.

"Please come and support the Sportive, if you would like to chip in some help, I would be pleased to hear from you," Bill ended.
