A missing person attracted the attention of a police helicopter about waving his Gloucester Rugby shirt.
The youngster was missing in the Forest of Dean yesterday (August 7) when a police helicopter from the National Police Air Service base in Almondsbury flew overhead.
He was spotted after waving the traditional cherry and white shirt at them.
Writing about the incident on Twitter NPAS Almondsbury said: "Young missing person in the Forest of Dean used his Gloucester Rugby shirt to attract our attention.
"What do you use yours for?"
According to local legend, on an away trip Gloucester realised they had forgotten to bring sufficient strip for the entire team. Travelling en route via Painswick, they stopped off at the local rugby club and borrowed their cherry-and-white jerseys.
Gloucester went on to win the away fixture and failed to return the shirts to Painswick, adopting the colours as their own. Lucky for one youngster that they did!
